Are you a translator (DE-EN, native language EN) with an interest in technical topics? Are you interested in working with a wide range of different text types and turning draft technical texts into compelling customer communication by editing or translating them? If so, you could be the ideal person to join our dSPACE Language Services team.
Your tasks
- Translating/proofreading various types of text from all departments into English: for example, engineering articles, company and product brochures, advertisements, press releases, sales presentations, as well as internal communications and job advertisements
- Proofreading software and hardware manuals and user interface text
- Working with project teams to develop project terminology and maintaining our company terminology database
- Advising non-native English speakers (technical authors, engineers) on everyday language issues
- Writing and maintaining internal style guides and tool documentation
Your qualifications
- Graduate translator preferably with work experience in technical texts, or a graduate engineer with experience in translation work
- Native speaker of English or near-native command of the English language
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, both in English and German (German level of C1 minimum)
- Linguistic versatility to meet the requirements of different types of texts
- An affinity for researching terms, writing definitions, and maintaining the company terminology database
- Good knowledge of translation software tools, preferably SDL Trados Studio
- Minimum of two to three years’ work experience in a translation environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle tight deadlines
- Ability to work with colleagues from different fields
