Your role
As a French Translator, you will:
- translate texts from English into French in the fields of economics, finance, central banking and banking supervision;
- revise and proofread texts written in French;
- identify, extract and compile terminology in French;
- work with state-of-the-art language technology tools, including machine translation, and maintain translation memories in French;
- contribute to the Language Services Division’s overall strategy by providing ideas, embracing innovation and being part of the evolution of the translation industry.

Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
- a master’s degree or equivalent in translation, modern languages or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);
- in addition to the above, a minimum of five years’ experience as a professional translator working from English into French in fields relevant to the position (economics, finance, central banking or banking supervision);
- experience working with computer-assisted translation tools, preferably Trados Studio;
- a native speaker-standard (C2) command of French and an advanced (C1) command of English, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
- an intermediate (B1) command of further official languages of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
