As an intern in Translation services, you would be exposed to work such as translating written or recorded material from two or more languages into another and producing a version that is, in meaning, style and effectiveness, equivalent to the original language version. You would be gaining experience in working with specialists who are studying texts and converting them into other languages using the most appropriate vocabulary and commonly accepted equivalents of professional or technical terms and ensuring that the original meaning is retained; acquiring information about the professional and technical subject matter covered and ensuring that terminology and nuances are correctly rendered and that the translation is structurally, grammatically and idiomatically correct; verifying the accuracy of citations; informing the supervisor of your work of possible errors in the original text.
