Dear colleagues from Germany,

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Research Methods in Translation and Interpreting Studies (ReMeTIS) programme, offered by the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of the University of Geneva (Switzerland), one of the most experienced and renowned centres for translation and interpreting education and research in the world.

This fully online programme is designed for doctoral and pre-doctoral students, researchers from related fields, and professional translators and interpreters looking to enhance their research skills. It consists of four independent one-month courses (each requiring 50-60 learning hours), allowing participants to tailor their learning experience to their specific needs:

  • Course 1: Exploring Translation and Interpreting Studies — Research Questions and Ethics (17 March – 17 April)
  • Course 2: Qualitative Methods — Design and Analysis of Qualitative Research (15 May – 15 June)
  • Course 3: Quantitative Methods — Statistical Analysis, Survey Design, and Data Interpretation (15 September – 15 October)
  • Course 4: Corpus Studies — Compilation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Corpora to Explore Linguistic Patterns and Translation Phenomena (17 November – 17 December)

Each completed course grants 2 ECTS credits, with an official certificate from the University of Geneva. Completing all four courses awards a total of 8 ECTS credits and a programme completion certificate.

  • Course 4: 27 October
