Since May 2018 data protection has become an important issue for the translation and interpreting sector. GDPR has introduced rules intended to bring order to the data processing arena, but lack of uniform interpretation of these rules across Europe causes a lot of confusion for our profession.
FIT Europe in association with its member organisations and external partners has initiated a project to draft common European GDPR guidelines for our sector. As a starting point for the project this survey has been prepared for freelance translators and interpreters.
We invite you to fill out this questionaire. It will enable us to assess the state of awareness among translators and interpreters and to define the most important issues to be addressed.
